The Beginnings

Everything started when I was around 13-14 years old (2001). It was secondary school when I was in love with Heroes of Might and Magic 2. I found an old CD-ROM with this game which was a gratis copy to computer magazine. To this day, I think it is a great game, simple but offering a great joy and entertainment. It was c.a. 10 years ago, when I made my first pretentious map in H2. It was my name drew as landscape on a vast sea. Some months later it wasn't better.
My plans to make a decent map in H2 fizzled out. My works were plain and was only for my purposes. But then I caught a virus for a mapmaking. After Heroes 2 I played a little of Heroes 3, but it was too hard for me. I was never a good player. I liked to enjoy my game, I never played for scores and points. And losing irritated me :). Soon the Heroes 4 was released (2002). So I took a chance and switched to newer game  leaving Heroes 3 behind. Many years after I returned to Heroes 3 and played every campaign and map this game was offering, but still up to this day I am not excited about this part of the series. I like it but I don't think it's brilliant.
I fell in love second time. The Heroes 4 had something magic around it. It had flaws, but offered really intense and reflective experience. I remember I read all the original campaign's stories as it was some great book. The game play, possibility to play with heroes on battle field gave an opportunity to tell a stories better and to inspire the player to make their own stories. I remember playing Zanfas' Challenge, the XL map. I had a hero barbarian above 36 level. It was tremendous power. Destroying everything with only one hero gave me so much joy and power.

Early Creations

The game and campaigns stories inspired me to make my own maps and stories. First ones was so clumsy as in H2. My first map was a small map with a barbarian hero. The victory condition was to kill lots of cyclops in the underground. It was hard task especially when you defeated the computer banner you win the scenario after three days. I was bad at scripts back then and I remember that I have never repaired this slip. Nevertheless, I quickly learned on maps already made.
Second my creation was a campaign about a death knight Gabriel. I recall a first map where a main hero had to escape a prison. Unfortunately I don't remember more, apart from that the Gabriel was a very charismatic person.
Another huge project was Scale World. It was a complete story with nice heroes and twist. The campaign tells the story of young general named Prolixus. His superior and all the army stationing in the Highland, their homeland, were defeated by sudden attack of undead great army. The Prolixus trying to stop the wave of undead armies, visits a great archmage, who gives him a ancient spell. Prolixus and his female friend Eleonora, who know the ancients runes, cast a spell which summons an incredible number of angels, which defeats the threat. The main twist was based on the premise that in the Scale World everything is in harmony and the spell of summoning angels caused a great number of devils elsewhere in the globe. The goal of our two brave heroes was to destroy the evil forces created by the side effect of the unfortunate spell.
The works on campaign was stopped after a strange errors caused again by wrong scripts. It is worth noting that in that time I made my creations only to my drawer, and no one ever played them. I had to test every map myself, few times in a row, which was too exhausting. That time I would never thought that Prolixus will be a main hero in my next campaign.

Modern Era

All my early creations was lost because of a sudden and devastating format C. I had the Internet long ago but I have never thought about searching something about Heroes in the Net. And a new world occurred before me. I made my account on the first heroes polish community forum named Jaskinia Behemota. I saw that there are lots of people still playing the games. That gave me power to made a new campaign. Now without any failures.
I made my first public campaign named Astral Romance, which you can download in the download page. The campaign was inspired by the Scale World, even the name of main hero is the same, but the story is completely new and even more addictive. Astral Romance was released originally in English in 2009.
After two years I encountered another great page - Celestial Heavens, which associates all Heroes fan in the world. Since the Astral Romance I was working on new campaign greater than previous with lots of maps and heroes. That gave a birth of Megom Chronicles, firstly in Polish, then after my discovery of Celestial Heavens site, translated to English. Megom Chronicles was released in English in 2011 and made me two years to accomplish.
Back then I drew inspiration from Japanese animations. The Astral Romance was mainly inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion anime and Scale World. The idea behind Megom Chronicles was a hero with a special ability to cast deadly spell only in certain scenes and in the others completely spell-dumb. The prototype of this hero was Vash The Stampede from Trigun, which always seemed to me a genius and moving anime. I had also many inspirations from SF movies/books (eg. Dune) and Terry Pratchett's books. The stories for campaigns evolved from the initial inspirations, especially Megom Chronicles made itself a huge campaign with 9 maps and complicated story. It was sure that I had to gather all the stories, Megom Chronicles and Astral Romance, in one completely closed world independent from the main story in Heroes 4. This move was also motivated my little knowledge of the intricacies of the original plot.
The perfect shot was an Aalondor continent which was used in abandoned LOMM project. My concept was to adopt the name and create a story on this very mysterious continent. So that i could separate myself from original plot and at the same time still create in Might&Magic realm.
The Megom Chronicles became a success, but I have an appetite for more, and I think players have it as well. I came up with new exciting story, which led me to making a continuation named Megom Chronicles: Memory Chrystal. The prequel will be now called Megom Chronicles: Tales of Souls. This is the main reason this page exist, it is a kind of a newscast of the creation process of Megom Chronicles Project and promoting my mapmaking works to the wider audience.
